Recently bike parking racks had been installed at many MRT station in Singapore. And Sembawang MRT had one newly installed :)
It may look easy but certainly not.. I tried to put my bike on the upper rack and I had a hard time pulling the rack down, carried my bike and place my bike onto the rack...
My advise is...... park your bike at the lower rack. Hassle free !
Step by Step 1 2 3...

Riding along PCN
Cycling is fun. We have been cycling along our neighbourhood ever since I know how to cycle.
We also cycle along the PCN (Park Connector Network) of Sembawang, Yishun and Woodlands.
Today, we suppose to join Northern Star (a cycling group in the Northern of Singapore) to cycle to Mandai. But did not join them due to timing, too early for us to join them :p
Anyway, our plan for today is also cycling to mandai but at later timing, we starts at 10am.. *haha* This is my second time cycling to mandai... this time round, we did not used Mandai Ave park connector, we detour to Mandai road heading to Upper Seletar Reservoir, took our break there before we continue our journey.
As I have yet to build up my stamina, so I pushed my bike along the slope of Ulu Sembawang as I am super tired ! But I hope the next round I am able to paddle all the way without pushing my bike *hahaha*
We had covered a distance around 20km... keep it up ! ^ _ ^
Had a short break @ Upper Seletar Reservoir..

Not One but Two
While we were on our way to Sunplaza for dinner, we saw Rainbow ! Not only one but two Rainbow! A double Rainbow ! And is rare to see a double Rainbow, I'm super lucky !
I wonder how true is that there will be a pot of Gold at the other side of the Rainbow? I wish it was true, so I will have 2 pots of Gold waiting for me at the other side of the Rainbow. kekekek....
Rainbow is caused by the reflection of light by water droplets. A double rainbow has an outer bow called the secondary rainbow and the inner rainbow called primary rainbow.

Train Ride
Took public transport to 奶奶's house :)
We spend about 1 hr and 30 mins on MRT; bus ride & on foot in order to reach her place [x2 including returning journey (total 3 hrs)]
Boarded MRT from Sembawang (North South Line), transferred to Circle Line at Bishan, alighted at Paya Lebar stn; transferred to MRT East West Line at Paya Lebar and lastly alighted at Bedok MRT station. Then we took a feeder bus at Bedok interchange and alighted at the bus-stop at Bedok South and finally walked to 奶奶's house. *Phew*

Floaters
Sometimes in Dec 2010, Mummy complained seeing some tiny black dots in her right eyes... after sometimes it still remained and did not disappear. So mummy decided to consult specialist to find out what was it.
Initial checked was told it was "Floaters" due to aging. Appointment was made to go back for review a month later.
Details scanned was done during reviewed. Doctor found retinal tears on both her eyes and suggested for laser.
Floaters "飞蚊" are those tiny spots, specks, flecks and "cobwebs" that drift aimlessly around in your field of vision. Floaters are caused from normal aging changes of the vitreous humor and usually aren't cause for alarm.
Poor mummy, I wished her good health !

Retinal tear occurs when part of the retina separates from the outer layers of the eye. If not treated early, retinal tears can lead to a more serious condition called retinal detachment, which may lead to partial or complete loss of vision.

Mum Can Bake !
Mummy bought an oven; a cheap, simple & easy to use oven! So she decided to bake cookies... she got the receipe from Aunty S.
This is my 1st baking, I helped mummy to measure the cake flour, sugar, then help to pour the ingredients into the mixer.. (steps are easy) Mummy told me the last time she baked was during her school times (20+ yrs ago)...
Since both of us are green horn, we followed the steps according to the receipe, and yet still 手忙脚乱, the whole place were messy; flour & cookie cutter all over the table.... :p I'm having fun molding the dough. @(^ . *)@
1st tray out from the oven was terrible ! mostly scorched as the buttom of the cookies all burned, temperature control was no bad.... 2nd & 3rd tray was slightly better... Butter Cookies 成功 !

Butter cookies recipe (fr Aunty S)
Ingredients: (makes about 36 pieces)
100g butter, softened at room temperature
80g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
180g cake flour
20g corn flour
Method:
1. Sift cake flour and corn flour together and set aside. Line baking tray with parchment paper, set aside.
2. With an electric mixer, add in sugar to the butter in 2 ~3 additions and cream till the mixture turns pale and fluffy.
3. Add in egg yolk and mix well.
4. Add sifted flour mixture in 2 ~ 3 additions, stir with a spatula to form a soft dough.
5. Place dough in a plastic bag and flatten with rolling pin.
6. Refrigerate the dough for about half an hour.
7. Remove dough from fridge. Roll out dough on slightly floured work surface and cut out with slightly floured cookie cutters. If the dough appears to be a little to hard and breaks into pieces while rolling, leave it at room temperature for a few minutes. The dough will soften up and can be rolled easily.
8. Bake at pre-heated oven at 175 degC for 15 ~ 20mins.
9. Let cool and store in air-tight container.

Walk !
The HSBC Tree Top Walk was officially launched by the Minister of State for Finance and Transport, Mrs. Lim Hwee Hua, on 5th November 2004.
This article is originally from nparks.gov.sg
The TreeTop Walk (TTW) is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through different stages of mature secondary forest. The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird's eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25m.
We started our journey from Venus Drive and we spend around 4+ hrs to complete a round trip of around 7km.
The toughest & longest walked I had... it was super tiring but is FUN !
While we were on our way back, spotted a Komodo Dragon resting along the path way...
Point to note : The walkway only allows for one-direction traffic. The entrance to the bridge is from Ranger Station via Peirce
Opening Hours
