Primary One Registration Exercise

The registration for P1 classes for 2009 will be carried out from 30th June to 28th Aug 2008.

Under the compulsory Education Act, Singapore citizens born after 1 Jan 1996 and residing in Singapore are required to attend national primary schools regularly. Thus, a child born between 2 Jan 2002 and 1 Jan 2003 has to registered at the 2008 Primary One Registration Exercise for admission to Primary One in January 2009.

Phases of Primary One Registration Exercise

Category 1 : Children who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

Phase 1
For child who has a sibling studying in the school

Phase 2A1
For child whose parent is a former student of the school and who has joined the alumni association; or parent is a member of the school advisory / management committee,

Phase 2A2
For child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school; or parent is staff member,

Phase 2B2
For child whose parent has joined the school as Parent Volunteer; or parent is a member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the school; or parent is endorsed as active community leader

Phase 2C
For a child who is ineligible for or unsuccessful in earlier phases

Phases 2C Supplementary
For a child who is unsuccessful in gaining a place in a school of choice at Phase 2C

Category 2 : Children who are not Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

Phases 3
For child who is not Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
